Good Law Enforcement
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Sheriff
There have been FOUR law enforcement agencies that rank and file officers have been involved in either targeting or bad behavior towards me in the last three years. The two that doubled down and the management of that law enforcement agency supported the bad behavior, I then filed lawsuits. It continues to this day and will continue for years and decades.
The last two law enforcement agencies that the management of that law enforcement agency did NOT support the either targeting or bad behavior towards me, I did not and will not file a lawsuit against them. The law enforcement agency sent me a corrective letter from a high level official acknowledging their mistakes. You might think that I might use that evidence to support filing a lawsuit against the rank and file law enforcement officer. But you see, it is not about money. It is principle. I reward good behavior and will not file litigation against them. I encourage everyone to follow this policy.

The incident with the California Highway Patrol, by responding properly, I turned a really really BAD into a really really GOOD. On November 7, 2019, targeting related, some guy cut me off and I passed him and he chased me. He threw a huge pliers at me while driving at 75 MPH on the freeway. He just missed my head by an inch that could have knocked me out and caused a head-on collision as there is no barrier with opposing traffic. I called 911 and the CHP responded. A week later, I got the investigation report and the CHP officer said that it was impossible to happen the way I reported it including the abrasion to my elbow, the ding on the vehicle and the officer said it was “impossible” for the pliers to land inside my vehicle. Not only was it not impossible, but it happened. However intended, the California state law enforcement officer was saying that I lied and made up a crime. This is unbelieveable and unacceptable as being targeted, crimes happen to us every day and we cannot accept a record that we lied to law enforcement.
I filed a report (high up in chain) of officer misconduct including improper investigation and improper handling of evidence. A sergeant later called me and we spoke for about 40 minutes. He was defending the officer but I was respectful and explained my objections and points.
Then I received the investigation of the bad investigation results. The California Highway Patrol admitted officer misconduct including improper investigation and improper handling of evidence. Totally fixed it.. They even advised me they are taking steps as a law enforcement agency to change their behavior.
I wrote a letter back to them and told them it is a win – win – win. It is a win for me, a win for their department, and a win for the rule of law.
